Supporting Inclusive Sport
Sylvanvale Foundation is delighted to be sponsoring Sydney’s first mixed abilities rugby team, the Powerful Owls.
The team was formed in 2023 as a way for adults of all abilities to give rugby a go. It’s open to anyone who wants to play, regardless of whether they have a disability or what it may be. The all-inclusive club is a joint initiative of the Engadine, Oatley and Burraneer Golden Oldies Rugby Union Clubs.
It follows Sylvanvale’s sponsorship of the Sutherland Titans Football Club, which caters to junior and senior players with disability from the Sutherland Shire and surrounding districts.
Sponsoring the Powerful Owls is a great way for Sylvanvale Foundation to support inclusion in sport and the many benefits it brings. The initiative provides all players with a great way to make social connections, it improves their overall wellbeing and builds self-esteem. It also gives people with disability more choice about the sport they play and who they play it with.
